For the last five years, his company has dedicated itself to perfecting its Submersible line, with superstar models such as the Quaranta Quattro defining the tool watch collection.
During our last conversation about six months ago, Panerai CEO Jean-Marc Pontroué surprised us with his ambitious intention to launch a 100 percent recycled mechanical watch. Now, shortly prior to the unveiling of the brand’s latest pieces at Watches & Wonders 2021, we caught up with him once again. Well, Florentine-slanted nautical watchmaker Panerai is taking a more extreme approach. “We wanted to offer our customers something that goes beyond just buying a watch,” explains Jean-Marc Pontroué. “To allow them to experience the Panerai DNA and test their watch in the most extreme conditions.”. We had the chance to sit down and chat with the CEO of Panerai, Mr Jean-Marc Pontroué about the recent Panerai-Razer collaboration and where he will be directing the brand’s reputation in the future for Panerai to continue to be a respected and admired name in the world of luxury watches.
